E : Trial Of Khmer Rouge

Dear Mr. Zacklin:

On behalf of the Khmer Unity Party (K.U.P.), we would like to inform you and the international community for our support of the United Nations' plans in placing the Khmer Rouge leaders on trial with an independent judiciary system.

This trial must be place into action as soon as possible. The Cambodian people need to put the khmer Rouge issues behind their minds. Mr. hun Sen is trying to delay the trial in order to cover the crime of humanity that was committed by the Khmer Rouge because he is a Khmer Rouge himself. He is truly a dictator. Mr. Hun Sen administration consist of many former Khmer Rouge members. Many of his military leaders are former Khmer Rouge such Keo Pong. They rule the same way as the Pol Pot regime.

The United Nations must not let Mr. Hun Sen dictate the way this international organization operates. Mr Hun Sen is trying to show the world that he could over power the United Nations. If Mr. Hun Sen is allow to set up the operation of the trial, the Cambodian people will never find justice for the actions of the Khmer Rouge. Mr. Hun Sen has not show the world that his administration could solve the unjustice actions in Cambodia such the killing of the journalists and many oppositions. So, the United Nations must pressure the Hun Sen administration to place the Khmer Rouge trial with an independent judiciary system.

We thank you for your continuation efforts to solve the problems for the Cambodian people. They have suffered long enough.

Sincerely,

Samnang Keo,
Assistant Secretary General of K.U.P.
